RED is offering an upgrade for V-RAPTOR 8K VV and V-RAPTOR XL 8K VV cameras to the latest V-RAPTOR [X] 8K VV Global Shutter sensor.
The upgrade is more than a sensor upgrade as it includes supplemental board updates and modifications to support the more powerful V-RAPTOR [X] 8K VV Global Shutter sensor. Key advancements include: Extended Highlights Mode, Phantom Track for virtual production, an all-new audio architecture, and more. See RED.com/V-RAPTOR for more details. During the upgrade, the exterior panels and RF Lock Ring (if applicable) will be updated to match the new V-RAPTOR [X] design.

ENROLLMENT:
To enroll in the upgrade, sign up directly through RED.com >My Account > Registered Products:
- RESERVATION OPTIONS: Please select your preferred upgrade window. Please schedule a time when you'll be able to send your camera for at least 7-10 business days (barring any delays). RED Support will contact you 1 week prior to the start of your upgrade window to provide a Service Order Number and Shipping Instructions. DO NOT SHIP your camera until you've received a Service Order Number (SOR) and Shipping Instructions from RED Support.
- RETURN ADDRESS: Please select the address you'll be shipping your camera from. Please notify RED Support during the upgrade process if you'd like to have your upgraded camera shipped to a different address.

What is Upgraded?
The upgrade is more than a sensor upgrade as it includes supplemental board upgrades and modifications to support the more powerful V-RAPTOR [X] 8K VV Global Shutter sensor. This includes: improved audio performance, reflection mitigation, extended highlights, and phantom track. During the upgrade, the exterior panels and RF Lock Ring (if applicable) will be updated to match the new V-RAPTOR [X] design.
During the upgrade, the serial number is not changed and hours of operation are not reset.
What to Expect
After enrolling in the upgrade, RED will contact you approximately 1 week before the start of your upgrade window.
- If your camera is not received at RED within 7 days of allocation, your order will be canceled.
- Please ensure you've planned appropriately to allow for at least 7-10 business days to complete the upgrade (not including transit time to and from RED HQ)
- You are responsible for shipping your camera to RED HQ.
- DO NOT SHIP your camera until you've received a Service Order Number (SOR) and Shipping Instructions from RED Support.
- Your existing camera body will be upgraded through replacement of required parts and enclosures to bring your camera up to the latest V-RAPTOR [X] functionality
- The camera's Hours of Operation will remain the same
- Payment is required prior to shipping the upgraded camera back to you
- If non-warranty repairs are required at the time of the upgrade, RED Support will provide a Service Quote prior to performance of repairs.
- Once the upgrade is performed, it cannot be reversed.
Warranty
1 Year Upgrade Warranty or remainder of current warranty (whichever is longer)

Sales Tax
If you take delivery of your upgraded camera in the US, sales tax is applicable in certain states. You will be charged sales tax on the full retail price of the upgrade.
If you take delivery of your upgraded camera in the European Union, Value Added Tax (VAT) may be assessed.
Shipping Costs
You are responsible for shipping your camera to RED HQ in Foothill Ranch, CA.
RED recommends that you use a traceable and insurable carrier when shipping to RED.
RED will cover the return shipping back to you after the upgrade is completed.
Turnaround Time
The estimated turnaround time is 7 to 10 business days.
NOTE: The turnaround time does not include transit to and from RED Headquarters.
NOTE: If additional repairs are required, turnaround will be extended.
