Remote Start/Stop

3.3 V SCHMITT

The SYNC connector on DSMC cameras and the DSMC2 BASE EXPANDER use a 3.3 V Schmitt trigger (5 V tolerant). The trigger is not a switch closure circuit, so it requires that the trigger source supplies current. Both edges of the input signal may be used as a trigger.

You will want to have the following settings set in camera:

CONTACT CLOSURE

The following devices feature a SYNC connector with Contact Closure style trigger input:

  • DSMC2 JETPACK EXPANDER

  • DSMC2 JETPACK-SDI EXPANDER

  • DSMC2 V-LOCK I/O EXPANDER

You will want to have the following settings set in camera:

You can reference more information along with the circuit diagrams in our Operation Guide HERE (DSMC2) and HERE (DSMC).

THIRD-PARTY

When using Third-Party accessories that use our RED Command Protocol (RCP) to trigger Start/Stop, you will need to have RCP enabled in the camera.
