RED® upgrades all EPIC-M BRAINs and accessories (see list below) to the current factory EPIC-X specifications at no cost if sent in within the original 2-year warranty period. The EPIC-M BRAIN® upgrade includes internal board updates to the EPIC-M BRAIN, improved REDLINK® antenna, OLPF port bushing, aluminum heatsinks (lighter weight with no impact on performance), new exterior mechanicals including top that provides additional mounting points, and an improved fan.

The EPIC-M Upgrade is not user-installable and the upgrade must be performed at RED Headquarters.

Eligibility

For more information about your camera’s eligibility, submit an RMA Support request.

 

Shipping Costs

If the EPIC-M BRAIN is within the original 2-year warranty period, RED covers shipping to and from RED.

If the EPIC-M BRAIN is not within the original 2-year warranty period, you are responsible for shipping to and from RED.

RED recommends that you use a traceable and insurable carrier when shipping to RED. 

 

Shipping Locations

Once you have been issued a service order number, you can send your camera and accessories to any of the worldwide RED facilities.

NOTE: The upgrade is performed exclusively at RED Headquarters in Irvine, CA. If you send your camera and accessories to other RED facilities, that will add to the anticipated turnaround time.

Turnaround Time

The estimated turnaround time is 7 to 10 business days. 

NOTE: The turnaround time does not include the transit time to and from the drop-off RED facilities.

NOTE: Any other offered or requested service options are processed separately and add to the anticipated turnaround time.
