Any DSMC Side Handle invoiced on or before July 19, 2012 is eligible for this upgrade.
Any DSMC Side Handle invoiced after July 19, 2012 was upgraded during manufacturing and does not need the DSMC Side Handle Battery Latch Upgrade.
The DSMC Side Handle Battery Latch Upgrade is user-installable. If preferred, you may send the DSMC Side Handle to RED® Headquarters for installation at no charge.
RED is responsible for shipping the user-installable DSMC Side Handle Battery Latch Upgrade kit.
If you prefer RED to perform the installation, you can ship the DSMC Side Handle to RED. If the DSMC Side Handle is under warranty, RED covers shipping to and from RED. If the DSMC Side Handle is not under warranty, you are responsible for shipping to and from RED.
RED recommends that you use a traceable and insurable carrier when shipping to RED.
The turnaround time is 3 to 5 business days.
NOTE: The turnaround time does not include the transit time to and from the drop-off RED facilities.
NOTE: Any other offered or requested service options are processed separately and add to the anticipated turnaround time.
