Some official tools and white papers like the IPP2 whitepaper would be very nice to be version control managed. For instance if the IPP2 white paper changed I would want to know what changed. v1 vs v2 is ambiguous but if it was on Github I could see exactly what changed so that I could adjust our pipeline accordingly if necessary.
Also it would be great if there were some semi-official tools that we could submit and then other users could manage like my RED workflow nodes for Nuke.
RED has opened up quite a bit over the years and that's great. There is quite a bit of existing public info that makes more sense to be in a git repository than inside a downloads page on the support site.
